Our Story

Siargao Island once voted “World’s Best Island“ met its unexpected fate last December 16, 2021 when a super typhoon made landfall, affecting all nine municipalities of Siargao on its course. The devastating impact left many island locals with a huge undertaking to rebuild their homes — with little to no resources, doubling costs of construction materials and the fishing, farming and tourism economies completely at halt, the task at hand seems practically insurmountable.

Though paradise may seem lost, in ground zero it is hardly the reality. With all the infrastructure destroyed and lush landscapes left barren, the human spirit still shines through. It is undoubtedly the people of Siargao that keep it a paradise - with their unparalleled generosity, radiant smiles, unwavering sense of humor and unceasing spirit of Bayanihan and community — perhaps Paradise is actually found.

Here at Project Paradise, we believe that “paradise” is not merely a place or destination but a state of mind and heart.  Together as a team, our mission statement is to strive to co-create a sustainable island through projects that uplift the lives of the community members of Siargao.

Post-typhoon Rai, we have three on-going projects; a Rehabilitation Program, Paradise Kitchen and Livelihood Aid.
